About Me, and About the Blog

For the past 15 years I've been on a wild ride with my family into the unfamiliar and slightly scary world of homeschooling.  My name is Ramona Stumpf, and I'm no school marm!  But I love to learn, and I love to share what I've learned.  This blog will cover principles and materials we've used in our eclectic homeschooling style, and encourage you to try them in your homes.

You'll find lists (favorites, recommended, top ten, etc.), book and curriculum reviews, movie reviews (even old classics), and anecdotes.  You'll learn from our mistakes, gain encouragement to soldier through tough times, and find out about freebies.  We'll discuss education philosophy and trends, and you may get to hear from some talented students I know.

We come from a Christian perspective, but our tastes are eclectic.  We've dabbled in Charlotte Mason, Sonlight, Alpha Omega, Saxon, Thomas Jefferson Education, Montessori, and other methods to create our own specialized blend.  We've worked on our own, and with tutors, public school classes, and college courses.

Please check back often!   Your ideas for topics and discussions are always welcomed.
